Semitones Children’s Choir
The Semitones Children’s Choir, for children and youth aged 8 to 16, aims to have fun while learning music and movement basics and is inclusive of all ability levels. The group also strives to integrate children of all abilities and build leadership, acceptance, confidence and to promote expression.
The choir began in January of 2014 and is based on the model of Kids of Note under the direction of Brenda Baker in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.
Under the direction of Susan Farrell, and accompanied by Cherie Larson, this group meets Saturdays from 11:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Kiwanis Place (10330-120 Street NW).
The Children’s Choir has helpers drawn from the Edmonton Youth and Children’s Choirs and Òran (of the Kokopelli Choir Association). The Semitones Children’s Choir is non-auditioned, and there is no cost to the choristers to join.
