Music for Everyone

Inclusive and Fun!

The Braille Tone Music Society of Canada is a Registered Charity that provides musical enrichment for persons with disabilities in the Edmonton area.  Our programming currently includes the Braille Tone Choir, the Semitones Children’s and Youth Choir, and funding for private music lessons.  The organization originally offered services geared towards persons with visual impairments (thus the name) but has since expanded to serve persons with all disabilities.

Statement of Goals: We are an inclusive artistic community that pursues engaging and rewarding musical experiences for all of its members, beyond any limiting factor.

Our Mission is to empower individuals of varying abilities to pursue professional instruction in music through our choirs and lesson subsidies, without significant cost to these individuals, in an inclusive and fun atmosphere.

About Our Logo

Our logo was designed by Kelly Skinner of Friday Design + Photography.

This innovative logo combines sixteenth notes with the Braille letters B and T in a beautiful and inclusive way. Our uniforms also include scarves with black and white polka dots, paying tribute to the Braille dots from the tactile language, which is used by many folks with visual impairments..

The choir has been in existence since 1996. Through the dedicated work of our conductor, accompanist, section leaders, and choristers, we perform up to six-part harmony in a variety of musical genres and languages.
